I have a question on what T-case would be in my friends 87 nissan pathfinder 5speed. And does anyone make lower gears for it, if not, what is the best t-case replacement for it. Thanks

no flamin aloud here

TX10 or TX10A. They are pretty much all the same Tcase.

Talk to Calmini (link in upper right corner) about getting 4:1 gears for it. They are also developing a SYE for that Tcase as well.

Thanks....yeah its lifted with 44044s in the front and F-150s in the rear on 37's. we have to order a high angle driveline for the front, and the rear has no SYE just a extended driveline...do you think it will need one?

I don't see why. Unless you need a CV. I don't have a CV on my rear, and it's about 35" long. I'm running the All Pro 5" long travel springs.

yeah this pathfinders got about a 10 inch lift, drive line is 42 inches long in the rear. Its makin a clunking noise...?

The SY might be over working angle? I never had that problem. Mine still fits in a standard garage though... I have no idea what my lift is. I think mine is going to be about 35" long after the dual cases go in. It was 41" before, and I never had a clunking sound. I am running standard toyota Ujoints.

Depends on how much travel you are actually getting out of the rear. That slip yoke only moves so far, so if the suspension compresses enough (unlimited by a bumpstop), it would force the front of a solid driveshaft forward enough to use up the slip-travel. A lot of short wheelbase rigs run fixed yoke rear output and a slipjoint driveshaft to combat that problem.

What duel t-case's are you going to use?

Here's my drivetrain:

4.3/700r4/stock toy case/stock toy case

Toy axles with 5.29's and 37's.

The tube chassis buildup will commence very soon. As soon as I get mine good enough to run, I'm going to start it.

Now my friends 87 pathfinder has the v-6 in it and stock trans. and t-case...would it be simple to replace the t-case with dual toy cases? would it bolt to the trans? He's runnin full witdh 44's with 5:38's and 37's. Its pretty low but you can never crawl too low.

They do. Give them a call. All Nissan transfer cases are basically the same. I think there is a VERY VERY SMALL difference in one small part, but they do make low gears.

You could run a divorced toy behind the stock T-case, but if your gas tank is in the same place as the newer pathfinder you can forget that option as well.
