I think I'm going to go have a nice dinner at Red Lobster with Mrs. Bobzooki, and my wheeling buddies.

Oh, and lose the monitor, or try the DEGAUSS button...

And make sure it's plugged into your video card securely.

ok I found the degauss button and that didnt work, it works for a second then it makes a clicking sound and goes back to doing the wave.

Also, is this a new position for your monitor? Sometimes electrical fields in the wall wiring will mess with monitors.

Try going up a step or two in resolution....

Try messing with yoru video card settings - usually if the top corners of the screen distort its because something is outta wack with the signal going b/t the vidcard and the monitor. It could also be some sort of magnetic interference - from electrical wiring and such. Lastly, if it doesnt work - hit it REALLY hard with a hammer. I guarantee it'll stop flickering :flipoff2:

nope been here for a few months, I did it in other places too, but it would always stop after a few seconds.

Did it stop doing it after a click of a relay of some sort? If so - maybe the relay is busted and its keeping the degaussing circuit on constantly. Since you're gonna replace it anyways if its a problem - open it up and look for a relay. Unsolder it and take it out. see if it turns on and still does it - if not replace the relay (or keep it out - keep in mind it will accumulate magnetic fields even when off now). Oh and watch out what you touch in a monitor - those big capacitors can pack a nasty punch :D

I changed the screen resolution and it got better, but as I am typing this it is starting to flicker again.

-Steve oh its back to full time flicker now.

Try going into the advanced button where you change the resolution - go to the display tab and change the refresh rate (first drop it to the next step down - dont use the ones that are NOT multiples of 5). If you can post a screenshot of what the window looks like when you press the advanced button I might be able to help you a bit more.

the last one that did that we took up to the 4th floor of the dorms and threw out the window onto the concrete below. Grant it in the morning when the kid whose it was woke up and wanted to know where his monitor was, it wasnt as funny. But the satisfaction of watching it explode into many peices the night before was nice
