Ok guys I’m gathering some info before I start the build up on my jeep. I’m looking to get some opinions on the suspension setup I plan to run. This build up is on a YJ. Here is what I am planning I’m going to run 38.5”SX’s with waggy springs SOA with a shackle reversal in the front on a dana 44HP and ford f150 springs SOA in the rear on a ford 9(w/ track bar). I’m using these springs because I want to lengthen the wheel base of the jeep about 8”. I plan on flat fendering the front fenders, trimming the rear fenders to a J shape and using a 2" body lift. I'm adding the body lift because I am doing a belly up also. My question is doing this do ya’ll think I will be able to use stock ford and waggy springs or should I look for some springs with a little lift to them? I don’t want to lift the jeep anymore than I have to which is why I’m doing the belly up. Any other ideas or opinion are welcome and appreciated. Also any ideas and pictures of shock locations for this kind of setup would be nice. I was thinking about a V shape in the rear.

I already have the axles and all the stuff to build the axles up(got a great deal) so dana 60’s are not an option.

Thanks
Kenneth

sounds like you got a good plan ging... im not sure about the F150 springs since they are just a few thick leaves as compared to many thinner ones that woudl flex a little better. good thing is leafs are cheap if you dont like them then you can get different ones.

do a bit of searching on pirate and you should find alot.

and i sent you a PM.

The ford srpings are longer than the spings I have which will give me more flex.

Just for reference....

For the rear I am running F150 2wd 2.5" wide springs......stock height, with a lengthened frame (WB is now 104.5") the rear shackle hangers are placed 1" below the frame rail. I have a 1" body lift and comp cut the rear quarters (all the way up to the wheelwell.

I have TONS of vertical room in the rear.....I could easily fit 44s I think. Currently I have fodees back there.

Front is stock 7 leaf waggy fronts, stock YJ shackle configuration and flat fendered (sawzall). The front looks like it's perfect for 40's....could prolly fit 42s too.

So. you are leaving the wheelbase stock & just want longer springs for more flex?
Should be OK with enough trimming & rpopper bump stops.

On my SOA with Waggy springs they were fine with 36" tires but with 42's I had to put on anti-wrap bars. The springs were bending into an S every time I hit the brakes and lost their arch and cracked within 6 months.

I used dodge durango springs in the rear and they are amazing! they'll provide ~2.5" of lift or so. I strectched mine ~10", but you can stretch it more or less depending on where you want to put your mounts. My rear shackle hangers are mounted to my rear bumper. I'm using stock/whipped 7 leaf waggy's up front. The flex is awesome! I only run 36's but could run up to 42's without issues. Just would need to flatfender the front some more. anti-wrap bar is definitely a must. good luck.

Oops, missed that in the first post.
Second post said just for more flex.
You do realize the Waggy springs won't give any extra wheelbase with a shackle reversal, right?
