Looking to put a locker in the rear of my Kj. Was thinking about powertrax. Anyone got any ideas?

Or a vacuum locker ! Vacuum is onbords, no compressor needed.

For DD the simplest ! :D

My vote is for Lincoln

This is like asking which is the one true religion.

My vote is for ARB. Selectable kicks ass, you know exactly what it's going to do and when. Downside is you are dependant on onboard air, lines, valves for proper operation. Anything takes a crap, you're open again.

Lincoln locker, taste great and less filling.

Detroits, lunch box lockers have a short life.

Anything vacuum sucks ass. On big hill climbs you vacuum drops to zero or near zero and you all of a sudden have an open diff. You back off the throttle and the diff engages under load! :nuke:

Thats why vacuum actuated drivetrain parts are not spring loaded to reset into another place WITHOUT vacuum (they ahve 2 lines, one to specifically unlock, and the other to specifically lock), and why if things are in good shape the solenoids will hold the vacuum and in case they fail there's always a vacuum reservoir

The shit I've seen doesn't work as design after a few years of use. Like you said if in "good shape" . Plane and simple there the worst design out there.

if snow and ice is a concern -> selectable (ARB, Electrac)
if not -> Detroit Soflocker and don't look back
:)

Miller/Lincoln makes for way too much fun and makes the trails too easy :flipoff2:

The "BEST" locker for you would have to be the one that will give you the performance you are looking for, at a price you can afford. I run lockrights front and rear. It gets a little...ummm...tricky on snowy roads. But that's because of the front one. If I had the cash, I'd probably put ARB up front.

Spool. That is all. Carry on....:D

The best would be an ARB. Fully locked when you need it and open when you don't. IMO, the BEST option for a DD locker ;)

A Detroit or a selectable locker is your best choice. If you have an automatic, a lockright or such is ok, but I hate my lockright with my manual tranny for road use. It throws you around when accelerating or letting off the gas. A spool or a "lincoln" locker on the road will just grenade your diff or snap an axle, unless your running the BIG stuff!:D

Have you figured out yet that what ever locker you have is the right locker for the moment. As stated asking what is the right locker is like asking "what is the best religion" only you can answer.

If you are willing to spring the $$$, I would recommend an ARB on anything that will be daily driven. But Childplay's answer seems like a good one as well ;)
