messed up? yeah, just a bit....
I actually get to do this fun job tomorrow.
to get the knuckle off the yoke, use a ball joint seperator and a hammer. pretty self expanitory.
to get the ball joints out of the knuckle, remove the circlip from the bottom ball joint and then press it out (press toward the top of the knuckle). Then with that removed press the top one out in the same direction.

I tried to use a ball joint tool on mine and found out there was no chance of getting the ball joints out with it. So I took a hammer and beat the crap out of the bottom ball joint to drive it out towards the top of the knuckle. I then used a steel pipe and pounded on the top joint for a while until it started to break loose. I finished the job with a press.

I too have found ball joint tools damn near worthless. I use a 20 ton hydraulic press...

Put down your purse and SMACK that son of a biatch!!!
1. Use a 4 prong balljoint socket to remove the upper sleeve.
2. Wack the knuckle with a hammer.
3. Once the knuckle is loose from housing, use a balljoint press to remove/install the balljoints.
Search!! I made this post for a reason.
