Okay, I'm still fairly new to both this board and to the 4x4 thing. Be nice, I'm a lady! I'll try not to aggrivate you guys, however I could use some help. I have a 1980 CJ5 in desperate need of help. I have some great friends helping me, but could use some hands on experience. Anyone who has rebuilt or modified a 5, that has any horror stories they want to share? The first order of buisness is to get her running. The motors strong, however I have to replace the fuel tank and pump, and get the carborator back on and go from there.
Background on me.........Like I said I'm new, and still learning so I'm not going hogwild at first, just want a toy to learn with so I don't tear up my 2003 TJ.
Looking to sport 35" tires for now, I think we are gonna put yota axels under her, any experience there?

I put yota axles under my cj5 and love the mod. They may not be the strongest axles out there (not looking to start a debate), but they are inexpensive, a little wider than the stock ones, spring over, and normally come with 4.10 gears. You will need to outboard your front springs, and move the perches on the rear axle, but other than that it is pretty straight foreward. You will without a doubt have enough room to clear 35s.
