OK, I'm getting 31x11.50R16 Claws for my Tacoma. They're going to be going on the stock 16x7 Steel wheels.
I've heard/read this gives some sort of a beadlock type effect on it.
So what's the deal? good/bad?? This well be almost all off road, and a little street.

It will pull the tread into a curved shape and make it wear a little unevenly. I have 12.5s on 8" rims and it will be the same. I can air down to 5psi though and never lose a bead ;) That's what people mean by a "beadlock" effect. I don't expect more than about 20K out of my MT/Rs though because of the unusual wear pattern that it causes.

Yea, realized it's not "ideal", and it'll wear weird, but this will be jut a trail tire. Thanks for the info guys!

12.50 on a 8" wheel (or 11.50 on 7") isn't bad at all.
I've run both combos and I get 25,000 miles out of BFGs at half-worn, easy. I see no reason 50,000 isn't possible.
I have about 10,000 on my MT/Rs and theyre barely visibly worn running 35/28 fr/rr for street pressure. No "weird" wear

Are your MT/Rs 33, 35 or 37"? Mine are 33s and the shorter sidewall (assuming you have 35 or37s) pulls the tread into a arc instead of letting it lay flat. I have varied pressure from 20-35 pis and still they will not run flat against the ground so I figure the center tread will wear faster. I am happy with the combo though, never lose a bead and the MT/Rs are great every where I go.

32x11.50 on 15x7,
33x12.50 on 15x8,
35x12.50 on 15x8
I've run all these and there was little difference.
I've noticed tread on BFGs had a bit more crown than the GY treads, but it didn't seem to make a difference wear wise.
The rears on mine always had a bit of a no-contact area on the edges when they were new, but with rotations at every 5000-7000 miles it seemed to even out each time.
I'm running 33" MTRs on an 8" rim and its fine. Running slightly lower street pressure helps flaten out the tread.

I run 32/32 F/R on my Taco for now. If/when I get these claws, what PSI you think would be good? Like 30/28? Or lower?

37X12.50 MTR's on my aluminium 7" outlaw rims............
tires wear perfect
never bust a bead
and keeps the tires skinny like pizza cutters to help save the joints on my D30:flipoff2:
