I kind of know what a 406 looks like. Why don't you post a picture of what each one of these vehicles looks like.

all i know is that the 404 is the most common (cheap) and unlike the 406, it has drum brakes. The 416 that i saw was rather small.
No dought i'll get spanked for this general info.

go here, http://www.unimogmagazine.com/

they have classifieds that sell them, parts for them, guides to identifying them, and all kindsa other junk. you can ask their tech gurus anything about mogs and get an answer, the only thing you will probably find out here are mog axles are cooler than 60s

good luck.:)

ps. pinzaguers are cool too, and plentiful if you know where to look, but anything benz is probably a better vehicle.

the u900 and 406 are tegh same thing i thought. I would buy teh 416 double cab. People say the 406 is too short for steep climbs and that the 416 is perfect. I was looking into getting one last year. a guy told me his freind almost rolled one over backwards up a steep climb he was making.

pete's offroad place sells adapters to put in big block chevy's.

They are deffinitly awsome trucks.

I know a guy in Disney Oaklahoma named Russ he has a bad ass Unimog on 44 TSL, He can drive like no other in that thing its so freaking bad! Its got an exo cage as well a really nice rig for only 10k, It will beat out any Jeep Ive ever seen at Disney even the big boys on 44 with huge v8's and atlast t-cases ,Russ Hogan in Disney Oaklahoma is a Uni freak he loves them and can get them any time for sale. Great guy Russ is!:smokin:

Yup Russ is a very nice guy but I don't know about him out wheeling every Jeep.

I would take a 404 radio box anyday, that would be my towrig/ mobile cabin.
:D

I would pick the 416 double cab for the extra room. The 406 is cool too but it's pretty short The 900 is just way too big, it makes the others look small if that's possible.
