I guess that 55's are notorious for the rear bumpers pushing into the rear body panels. Mine have been dented and then rusted. I spoke briefly with a auto body tech and he said that I should cut out the bottum half that is damaged and then mold/form a new bottum panel. Anybody have a better idea to replace or repair this?

I have a good quarter from a parts truck and I am thinking I might make a mold of it so I can get someone to stamp replacement sheet metal for them... Anyone know of a company that can make the dies to stamp the sheet metal???

If it's too expensive it wont happen. I am NOT intending on the entire quarter, just the simple lower corner where the rust and dents from the bumper occur.

Sorry for making it seem like I was going to do the entire quarter....

Build a beefier bumper, that way you don't push in, but rather, your bumper pushes BACK! =)
