As some of you know I recently blew the rear end in the cruiser. I got some fine spline gears to replace mine (Thanks again Mike!!) and I was told my Tankota that a regular Toyota yoke/flange would work.

Well I have access to a few Toyota trucks and drive lines and I know that I could take the rear drivline, have it shortened and re-drill my Drum for the new driveshaft. But my question is this, are the Toyota truck U-joints as strong as the cruiser joints?

Now how about the front, would a Truck t-case yoke interchange with a Cruiser yoke? Or would I have to keep the Cruiser driveshaft in the front and re-drill the pinion yoke to accept the Cruiser yoke?

Confused yet?? hell I know I am!!

i did exactly what your saying minus blowing my rear end, he he, but i had a regular toyota truck course roung flange and re drilled the drum brake thingy, for the front i just used regular cruiser d shaft! jiMMy

I'm using the slip yoke end of a toy driveshaft in the back of my cruiser. It has held up good so far. I was also concerned about the u-joint not being as big. Just buy a good quality one (spicer neapco etc).

I used geo metro wheel studs for the t-case drum studs <IMG SRC="smilies/jester.gif" border="0"> (I'm serious, they were the right size for the toy driveline that I had).

I'd also like to know if the truck t-case yoke interchanges with the cruiser t-case yoke.
The cruiser front t-case output is a pretty coarse spline though...isn't it?
