: more NC wheeling, SNOW STYLE
NC Zuk 01-10-2004, 10:08 AM What a difference a week makes!! Last saturday I posted pics of us in short sleeves. Yesterday we got our first snow of the season. So what did we do? We went wheeling :D Well can you blame us? We have snow and we had the time and of course we had the rigs. So off we went. We played a bit on Fort Bragg and all was well. We headed down the gas line and each stream we crossed got a little deeper and nastier until............... Well look at the pics. You'll see!!
No rocks here!!!

scwafish 01-10-2004, 11:16 AM Bring a roll of quarters to the pressure washer!
scO44 01-10-2004, 11:23 AM Hey Art, Do you go through alot of those rear ylink bushings?? Or did you fab a heim setup yet? That has got to be the worst design of the kit (couple other things as well).. What is your trick to not chewing one up EVERY couple times you wheel (sometimes every time)?
Later, Scott:D
Bill4rest 01-10-2004, 11:28 AM It's cool you got all that articulation for all that mud:flipoff2:

You know, I am STILL running the stock rubber bushings in there and they are fine. I don't know what to tell you. I did buy the poly bushings but they are sitting on the shelf in the garage. Are you tightening the nut too much? I have absolutely NO complaints on this setup at all.

Yep! I spent 10 bucks last weekend and 5 bucks lastnight but it still needs some more work. I really don't go looking for mud, I just can't wheel anywhere without having to go theough it.
scO44 01-10-2004, 01:56 PM How much do you crank the nut?? Just snug? I normally beast it on pretty good.. I will try running it looser. Wanna get rid of the poly bushings?

Islandzuki 01-10-2004, 02:08 PM So were you guys able to make it across that mud hole????
and yep cleaning after the mud sucks I alredy invested in a pressure washer.....and I dump all the mud in a pile outside the house..(good thing I dont stay on post:D)
samiguy 01-10-2004, 02:09 PM I have the same suspension. I toasted my rubber bushings ramping it after the install. I switched to poly and went through a few before figuring out that the nut has to be somewhat loose. I havent had a problem since. I also added a grease fitting so I can lube it up, that seemed to help too.

I use an impact gun to tighten the nut. I tighten it until I see it start to bulge. Then I back it off a bit. No rear slop and the bushing is fine. If you want a pair of bushings shoot me a PM. I have 2 sets.

No way man. It was like a suction cup. It took about 15 tugs with 10 feet of slack in the strap to get me out. It wasn't pretty!!
