i am doing an soa set up now, and on the front i have run into a question i thought i would ask some advice on. i have a winch with a large bumper up front, together weighing about 200 to 250 lbs. still running the 2f also. so my question is which spring to use. i already have a couple of pairs of stock lc springs. plus i very much wish not to have the front higher than the rear, i would rather just the opposite!! i am using fj60 springs in the rear. also is there any reason i would rather use a rear fj40 spring up front??? thanks for any input. buford

Scott,
How are you planning on doing your shackles? Are you cutting off your shackle reversal?
You need to for sure.
Are you planning on moving your axle forward or keeping it in the same place?
Did the shackle mount through the frame or did you mount it below the frame when you did the SR before?
Answer these questions and I should be able to tell how high your front will sit.
You can set up the front first and if you need to put soem height in the rear to level it out you can build your spring perch a little higher in the rear than in the front.

You want to mount your spring hanger flush with the frame...the shackle reversal "tower" puts undo stress on the frame when you twist your Cruiser up.
The added advantage of this is the excellent approach angle you will get as a result.
To lenthen your wheelbase you will need to reverse your FJ-40 springs. You can use rear springs if you like, however, I think you will be happy with stock FJ-40 springs...reversed.
I have the 2F and an M12000 winch onthe front of mine and I run with 2 of the leafs out of my FJ-40 spring pack.
Here is the appreoach angle I have now. You will not have this much unless you want to cut your front fenders off like I did.
