With all the pics of 60's and there roofs on the drivers lap I was starting to wonder if any one has built a 60 with a cage inside? I have seen a few 60s with big bulky exo cages but these things are big enough without all that extra width. Any pics or ideas would be great. Looking for ideas or reasons good or bad as to why I shouldn't do something like this. I have a SOA 60 that I am putting a V8 in and want my wife and daughter to be safe. Thanks for any info. :)

I have a cage in my 60 but most of the roof is missing but it might give you a few ideas it goes to the frame in 6 spots as well. I will have to take a photo and scan it for you I do not have a digital camera and it is a new mod so I do not have any developed pics yet. But I promis to post it. I rolled my 84 a few years ago not really hard and it trashed it this time I am not going to let that happen again. Mine is SOA with 2" Alcans and it was way to top heavy really scarry on off camber stuff.

so did you roll it before or after the SOA? I have wheeled mine quite a bit since the SOA but after seeing the pics of what it will look if it ends up on its roof it made me start to think. thanks and will look forward to seeing pics. atleast for anchor spots.

I think SOR.COM sells a kit but it only covers from the driver back.
My brother in Law had one in his FJ-60 and it really got in the way on access to the rear seats.

I rolled it after the SOA but when I built my 87 I did SOA in that one as well. a big help as far as body roll in my 87 is Rancho RS9000s they help a ton. As far as the cage making it hard to get in the back I laughf, as far as I am concerned it keeps fat people out!!! If you are to lazy to crawl around a bar I dont want your lazy ass in my rig any how. I would recomend a cage to all 60 owners that are SOA or wheel hard its worth the trouble. But dont get to carried away cause the 60 is heavy enough no need to build a monster cage and make the problem worse.
