ok, I'm putting some in the back of the xj for taillights, but first the things don't draw enough current to make the flasher work, and second, the stock junk has a separate turn signal. so how do I cure my problems?

I know they have those little boxes you hook up to hook trailer lights to a system like mine,(separate turn and break lights), but will that cure the not flashing too? or an electronic flasher? anyone delt with this?

TJs need Radio crack p/n 271-120 (8 ohm 20watt resistor, ~ $1.50) to get our light blinking right.

Do you have an STT lamp? If not that is what you need as they already have a 3 pin connector for a seperate turn lead.

This is exactly what I used (http://www.partssystems.com/shop/productdetail.html?product_id=M44202RLX&c=LED%20STT)

Just put in an electronic flasher, that'll get the turn signals to blink. Had to do the same thing on my 'Cruiser.

Brent, I Ran into the same problem. Luckily it already had the trailer lighting circuts. I just ran my lights off of that and everything worked out great.

I've got trailer lighting circuits too, but they still won't flash cause it thinks one of the bulbs is burnt out cause its not there, so maybe an electronic flasher and the led's hooked to the trailer circuit ??????????

mechanical flasher... they sell them for semi's... find a local truck stop/dealer or something.
An inline resistor should work as mentioned above too.

electronic flasher didn't work, neither did the stock mechanical flasher, guess I'm getting some resistors.

Well they are water proof, shock proof, and last forever. But mostly they just look cool :flipoff2:

this is what the back of my cherokee looks like at the moment, and I'm tired of breaking taillights on rocks, I got a good deal on the led lights I have 2.5"x6" oval ones, and now I have to make them work.

-super visible
-lightweight
-extremely long lifespan
-less prone to corrosion
-if a bulb style light burns out, you have no light, with leds, most of them could fail (unlikely but possible) but you would still have a legally working light
-the way of the future. a lot of new vehicles are coming with oem leds, traffic lights are being converted etc. etc.
-they're cool.:D

as far as legality is concerned they are fully legal, but as far as purple ones are concerned I don't think so!

I just put a set on my trailer today. I've got sick of the bulbs burning out as soon as I'm ready to hit the road on a trip. That's happened twice already!

I bought mine from a place in Phoenix called Lighthouse. $14.00ea. with a 10 year warranty! Can't beat that!

Well really the lights themselves are legal but unless you put some clear ones in for revers lights and some on the side of your vehicle for side traffic then your vehicle won't be legal...BUT most places will overlook them or just dont know these rules:D

You can get LED lights almost anywhere they sell trailer parts. Truck stops are also a good place to look for them. Wal-Mart is a great place to look, in their trailer section.

nobody never said I's a smart man.............. the electronic flasher will work if you put it in place of the turn signal flasher and not the hazard one.
