Does anybody know of a run to Moab that me and a couple buddies can get in on? WE want to get it, not just see it. I've heard of a toyotafari in April. Any Details?

If you're looking to stay in Moab during EJS, better make your reservations ASAP.

You can't go wrong with EJS.

I used to live in Salt Lake and made it to 6 in a row. A blast, but make your plans soon because it gets packed there.

Make sure to check out "Potato Salad" too, great obstacle that gets a huge crowd.

I would like to go when it's a little less crowded then EJS. I have a buggy that is registered off road only. Will this be a problem at moab? Also why do I need reservations? Can't you camp on the trail?

I don't know about how the law is during non EJS, but during EJS, assuming you aren't being stupid, they seem to not worry too much about nonlegal vehichles on the road. At least that's just what it looks like to me, as I have seen lots of them driving around. Regarding the reservations, most camp sites and hotels sell out early. I've always stayed at Slickrock. But I have seen lots of people dry camping along various roads/trails so I guess that's an option.

Generally, during EJS the local cops are lenient towards driving rigs around and tend to be more strict when it is less crowded.
Ya there's a bunch of places to camp, but during busy times you'd be suprised how packed it gets. You can't camp on most of the trails, but there are plenty of other areas. We would always send someone to go early and grab our camping spots during safari.
