Since I'll be slapping a healthy RE10 in the rear of my Disco right where the fuel tank is originally located, I'll be fabbing up a custom tank that'll hopefully be able to carry the same 88L of fuel in a more central position (2" body lift should help...right?).
I was wondering whether or not this set-up can allow for an external pump to be used for my 3.5 V8i rather than the original internal one...
Do any of you recommend any external pump that does the job, and is cost effective (AC Delco?).
Thanks.

Another source is the Rover car 3500SDI from the early eighties. They had an external fuel pump on the EFI models and I have used them in the past. In fact it makes a good emergency pump to carry with you incase the in-tank pump fails. Can plumb it up inline and draw thru the intank pump to get you home. Worked for me once but that's another story.

Another source is any external fuel pump from virtually any car (except TBI engines). You can find new, inexpensive universal pumps on E-Bay for $40 or less. Buy two and keep one as a spare.
I'm currently using one of these and have it mounted at a point approximately 1/2 that of the gas tank...so it gets some gravity feed for the first have tank, then has to suck the last 1/2 tank. This isn't the best situation (but the only place I could mount my pump), but my pump has never had any problems giving me enough fuel.

Keep in mind, Mike, the new pump is less noisy than the Bosch pump it replaced :D
