I read your FJ55 spring swap And was wondering if you stayed with the stock 55 bushings or got some of your own made up? Dan

I used the stock FJ-55 bushings when I went to 55 springs on my 40.

I got them from Specter www.SOR.com

.I had a local machine shop swap the 55 and 40 pins (when I did my 55 rear spring swap)...Now I have larger pins and the still fit the 40 front hangers!!..Only cost me 20 bones.....~CLINT~

Ditto as Nolen....I used SOR bushings, and you can pick your ID with those....however, there are 2 shoulder thickness between their three bushings...I originally used the thinner shoulder and larger pin....bad idea...now have the thickest shoulder bushings all around.

I used a custom front mount, so running a SAE bolt was not a problem. The solid mount pin on the rear is a stock FJ40 one, and it's a tad loose, but not noticable.

IIRC, it's a 9/16" bolt....I also drilled mine for grease fittings...well, most of them anyways... :D :D

THe easiest way I found was to take the old spring hanger pins and drive out the pin. So all you are left is that little triangular adapter piece. Then drill that out to 5/8ths. Piece of cake. I used the specter bushings as well.

I do have a set of front 55 spring hangers and greasable springpins if you are interested though.

You will love the piggy springs they are the best.....:fj:
