You'd be dissapointed if I didn't chime in right:flipoff2:

to stir the pot some more

You're not stirring the pot, just doing it wrong:flipoff2:

Speaking of which - I'm the worlds worst offender....my Moser Inners are d44 alloy shafts cut down and splined for the D30 locker...they don't neck down (like they SHOULD:flipoff2: ), they neck UP.....completely wrong! But ya gotta work with what you got.

I'm still convinced there's a reason Strange and all the big boys neck down:flipoff2: .....it's called Fiziks...or somfing like that:eek:

What we really need is everyone with broken bits given a crash course in failure analysis, so they can look and tell us whether the failure was from fatigue or major one-time overload. basically, if it's a fatigue failure, it appears more smooth with characteristic beach marks, and if it's one-time it will have a grainy appearance.

:flipoff2: you and yours this happy holiday season :D :D

well, if you saw the pic's on the toy section of the ears on that shaft it was from the cap spitting out, that's the only problem i've had with this particular axle, now my short side i've broken more than i want to admit to of stock necked down shaft's right at the neck down and they're hard grainy looking breaks...

:flipoff2: to you and your's also Bill :D

OK - good data - call me when you break a non-stock alloy shaft at the neck down :D

Seriously...hopefully your new shaft is the tool for the job for you...good luck with it. :smokin:

Speaking of getting chit.....assuming you don't have linoleum in your shop.......your wife lets you drag greasy, rysty carnage into the kitchen / beathroom to take pics??????

Shoulda seen the time I set my wife's microwave on fire just trying to "soften up" a strubborn rubber bushing....apparently 3 minutes is tooooooo long!

popcorn always tasted of burnt rubber after that
