I couldnt find the thread I was looking for.

I am wanting to get an MSD box and I think I remember someone saying that the offroad box was just a normal one with a different color case.

Can anyone verify this?

the offroad box is $212.95 and the standard box is $131.95. I dont see paying an extra $81 for nothing.

Any good deals out there? I got these prices from summit racing.

Its for a '72 Chevy 350 with a stage 1 cam. and non-hei distributor.

I put the 6AL (non off-road) on my mud racer & am VERY happy with it.

Pretty sure the offroad box is a 6A that is fully epoxy potted - meaning the electronic components are completely sealed in epoxy.

i am currently running the standard 6a. The only difference between the two is that the offroad edition has some special epoxy and has rubber mounts. Go with the 6a, the offroad edition isn't worth the extra $$$

I ALSO HAVE THE 61 WITH THE MSD HEI....WORKS GOOD FOR ME.....MOUNT IT AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE FOR WATER CROSSINGS AND MOUND IT INSIDE THE CAB......FOR THE WEATHER......I THINK THE OF ROAD BOX IS VIBRATION PROOK AND WATER RESISTANT......I DONT KNOW I ITS WORTH THE EXTRA$$$$
