I am trying to mount a york under my hood, a 2.7L 1999 Tacoma, my truck is making this a pain in the ass. I think I found a place on the driver side of the engine between the power steering pump and the battery. The only issue with this is the york is very close to the battery and might even touch, it is also almost sitting right on top of the radiator hose going into the side of the block. How hot does the york get and how close do you think I can mount it to other things?

Do you have a smaller battery (Optima in it)? That's one possibility.

Also, they get pretty hot, but it's not one of those items that's going to be running 12 hours a day. Should just need it every so often as long as you have a tank.

I have a 97 tacoma with the same engine. I'll give it a looksie and see if I can find another place for it. They certainly don't offer a bunch of extra hood clearance.

Don't forget to account for engine movement. If it is nearly touching the battery now, it will once it's running.

I'll look at my 2.4 Taco to see what you are saying as well.

Its tight under this hood. If I relocate the battery to the pass side close to the cab I would have plenty of room for the york. It just seems very sloppy. I would like to find a way with the minuim amount of moving other stuff.

Does anyone know of a flexy style radiator hose?
