I have a 78 Bronco with 9in ford rear end. Just curious what the spline count should be for a stock axle? I'd like to drop in a detroit locker, not sure if I need axles to run a 31 spline setup.

That's one way to know for sure. I'm pretty confident that they're 31 spline axles, but I guess I'll need to verify it before I start stockpiling axle parts. I can't decide on what gears I want, because I haven't decided whether I want to run 35in tires or make the jump to 37's. I can't see going any bigger than that with no plans to swap out the axles.
