: do your disc brakes make horrible squeeeels?

i just did the disc brake conversion w/ a '76 disc axle..all new everything rotors, pads, (calipers were good), when i brake hard, it squeeeeeels like crazy like a big bus or big ass peterbilt...when i am about to stop, after slowing down, the brakes squeeeeel again..its really pisssing me off...how do i get rid of the squeeeeeeeeeeeling

usually its the pad and caliper rubbing together. You can put something sticky on the back of the pad to stop that. They make a spray at the auto store.

What Eric said, and there are metal shim like things that are supposed to be between the pads and calipers. Without these they will squeal.
