First of I have a 87 chevy. It has a spare gauge pod i want to fill. I didnt want to mess with the older gauges right now so i was thinking of either getting a trans temp or a tach. The problem is its only a 2 1/16 gauge. I found a tach that small but it might be hard to read. But on the other hand would the trans temp be usless? I do not tow but heard they are good to have. I could just wait and put in a fuel gauge there with a full size tach where the gas was but again i really didnt want to take all my gauge apart just yet. Anyone got 2 cents on what they did or what would be more useful? thanks

I think you should run the trans temp gauge. I just fried my tranny cause it was having a cooling problem and i just baked the tranny. if i would have had a temp gauge i would have caught sooner. Plus i think a temp gauge is more useful than a tach unless you are always redlinning the truck. just my .02
