Ok, so I'm putting together parts for 3-linking the EB and realized that now would be an excellent time to extend the wheelbase. From measuring everything, it would be pretty simple to cut the crossmember and be able to move the axle back ~5". Normally I would be all for it BUT TDS is coming up soon and I have a lot more crap to finish and not so much time. Basically I'm asking for your opinion weather or not it would be worth my time and trouble to move it back 5". Right now I'm on 35's, but 37's are coming in a year or so. I'll post pics of the project later.

Yes. Better on-road handling, better climbing, better departure angle.

Have you thought of moving the front axle foward, I think that would give you a better approach angle.

Saving that for whenever I can afford a 60

IF you're moving it you might want to move it more than 5"
I have seen leafs moved back for at least 7.5" but with a 3 link you could get away with more.
I remember there being a thread a few months back about a stretched EB up Nor Cal way. I think Dan Dibble had posted the pics.

I'll look when I get it finished, but 5-6" seems to be all that I can get away with w/o building another gas tank or taking the BFH to the present one. And even with 5-6,you have to modify the x-member.

With 5" you will be required to build a new cross member and gas tank. Search for my name in here for pics.

I'm planning on cutting the stock crossmember like yours with a \_/ (except thats upside down) and adding 3/16" plate to it, then if the rear of the pumpkin hits the tank, I'll just put a dent in it w/ the hammer for now. Later on I'm planning to build a tank similar to yours. Looks like unless I get a lot of compression I'll be fine. But then again, you know what they say about assumptions...
