: Opinions on dana 44 U-joints..
crash 12-27-2001, 11:23 PM Ok, the toy junk is about to fall off the toy and the new RC44 goes in.. Will be getting the cut down axles delivered tommorow (thanks DSI) so what u-joints do you guys prefer to run?? I will be welding the caps in to keep from tossing them...
H8monday 12-28-2001, 01:07 AM Crash,
The 5-760x have been proving to be stronger on the trail than the 297x. I dont know what tires your running, but 38's and up, still gonna be hard on the joints, if your to rough with em. The CTM's have been holding up very well, but they are pricey. A lot of guys are starting to recieve the 1st batch of the forged CTM joints, so they will have a broader test base very soon.
BillaVista 12-28-2001, 05:59 AM What he said !
H8Monday - I really have to stop following you around the board agreeing with you - it's starting to feel a little icky! Maybe we should get in a bloddy good argument about something:flipoff2:

yep, im one who will be gettin the joints , actually they should of been here today...... Jack wasnt sure if id be getting the forged or billet ones, he was still waiting on the tool for the forging when i ordered...... daaamn i cant wait
crash 12-28-2001, 11:39 PM I will be running the 297x on the stock shafts, and will get the 5-760x when i get around to getting a nice set of shafts.
I only run 35x16 boggers, but hope to jump to 38's by early summer since i will have something under the front that will hold up to the abuse....
Lance 12-28-2001, 11:46 PM hey badass, I talked to Jack today, and you will be getting the billets because the forged ones will still be a couple weeks out.
Crash, I would definitely get a set of 760x's... They are the EXACT same price as 297's, and they are noticably stronger! Once you step up to 38's+, I'd have to say that CTM's may be in your future. But Im speculating here, because I haven't had a chance to put them to the test yet. :ghost::ghost::ghost::ghost:
crash 12-28-2001, 11:53 PM Heck, should put a 44 under camo's rig and let him test em,lol..
ya, i will be doing them on the new shafts, but i aint known for blowing parts like a few others in the club...
But i only have a 4 popper right now, soon to change...
