Anybody 3 linked the front of their EB and have pics?
Putting in a HP D44 and don't want to use the c bushing setup.

Ideas:confused:

Ok not much help but I am curious of why you don't want to use the C bushing setup.
If I was going to do a 3 link I would either do a similar to stock EB or a setup like this http://www.sn-fab.com/suspensions/Brett01.jpg

(stole it from here) S&N Fab (www.sn-fab.com)
but I don't see much of an advantage to doing all the fab to change it vs doing a wristed arm with the stock setup working well IMO with minimal work.

I see your point but I figured having heims at both ends of the locating points would remove mostly all of the bind that you get using the c bushings.
I have a wristed arm now that I might could extend and change to a rod end/ heim end instead of the bushing mount??????

This picture you posted looks like what I was imagining.

thanks,

I have not ever done it but everyone that I have ever heard of that extended a wristed arm was not impressed with the results (both those with wristed to start or extended to start) so it might not be worth the trouble.
If you like the picture check out the S&N link they build simple efficient setups that work well and should be able to give you some ideas.

If you do a wishbone 3-link as it sounds like you are describing, you would have to run full hydro steering. The other main problem is that there is an oil pan and crossmember in your way.

Which kind of 3-link were you referring to?

:edit: Technically what you are running right now is a 3-link:flipoff2: (albiet the radius arm type)

I was thinking something like whats in the picture of the jeep above but since I've got the truck - I do know there is an oil pan and crossmember in my way:flipoff2:

That's why I was looking for pics -if anybody had done it with their EB

Check out this thread;

This front 3 link has the outers high and the center low for pan clearance. Another option to analyze.

If you were going to do that 3-link with a panhard type suspension, I would reccommend that you read the huge thread about that type of suspension started by f????666 I forget his sn but it was a good thread. The problem with having a single upper link off to one side is the "jacking" effect that it causes...no cool in an off camber situation. Jeep TOTW has a good 3-link thread too. IronbenderII (sweet75 on the other forums) just finished a nice front 4-link that you can search for.

Buut, if you are really serious about this, here is some homework for you this (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=168577&highlight=roll+center) and find the "god of suspension" thread, and also check this (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=204893) its very helpful. Then come back if you still have questions:flipoff2:

And you might wanna check out rockstomper.com for your beadlock wheel needs:flipoff2: . Not only is scott awesome, but much cheaper, and the last person I have heard to have bought TR wheels ended up waiting months. There is also a huge Beadlock listing thread in Gen4x4 from about a month ago. Search newb:flipoff2:
