I have a couple of questions? Is reer steering DOT approved for street use? I have rockwells that I am going to use for a daily driver. Do you have to lock the rear steer on the road. Or do they make a rear steer setup that you do not need to lock the rear?
Next question: What size tire is good for a 6:72 gear ratio? Again, this truck will see alot of street use and some towing. I like the wrangler MTR's (40's). But I'm thinking they may be too small of a tire for that gear ratio. ANy help is appreciated.:)

If you are not going to run 44 or bigger I wouldnt run rockwells. As far as the steering being dot I dont know about where you are from but around here if it is illegal we still get away with it.

Maybe I should post this on another topic but I will post here anyway. I am really confused on what to put under my truck. I have a 98 chevy. I have the rockwells. Two fronts. I am confused as to whether I should just put 1 ton axles back under it. It seems that trying to make rockwells for street use is just not working out. There is much more involved than I anticipated. So any help from someone that is running rockwells would be appreciated.

if you see lots of street driving I would NOT run rockwells unless you plan on running a 46-49" tire, the gearing is just that low. running rockwells with 47" tall tire is like running 4.56 with 32's so you would still be humming in the slow lane. Get a set of 1-ton axles and some 5.89 gears or something closer to that. As far as rear steer I would run some kind of lockout no matter what, just for the fact if the rear tires tried to turn the only way I see it ending up is on your lid.
