I was just wondering what efects gasoline (fuel) have on jb weld. Will it eat it? I was going to use it to just go over a few pinholes in my gas tank filler neck. Thanks

I had a tank that was patched in about 20 places with jb weld. It held fine for the most part. I blew a hole in it with a garden hose but I think that was a new spot and not one of the patches. (yes I did replace the tank. eventually)

I patched a hole on a float bowl on my lawnmower with JB weld, worked for a while but the gas eventually penetrated it...

Eight years ago. I patched my Honda Preludes gastank after an off-road incident (big freaking rock .... 80 miles from nowhere in the bootheal of New Mexico ). I sold the car and it is still holding fuel. This is the reason I now have 2 4x4s :D :D

fiberglass works well and is cheap/easy too.

Just another option!

just thought I'd through in my $.02. My friend and I were off roading in a Nissan Stanza and he cracked the tranny open. The next day he sealed it up with a little JB weld and it stayed with no problem for years.
