Hey guys, what's up? Well I am new to the whole 4x4 scene and I am going to be getting an 88 toyota pickup soon and I was wondering what the best and cheapest site for wheel and tire combos was.

Thanks,

Roar

It all depends on what tires/size and what wheels you decide on. If you will primarily street the truck I would recommend BFG A/Ts and if it will see dirt/rocks but not much mud then Goodyear MT/Rs or BFG M/Ts. You can do a search and find a million posts on tires/wheels, this is a very very common topic on all 4x4 boards. I got a good price on wheels at www.tyres1.com and the best price on tires at www.discounttiredirect.com but you may find better deals other places. Get a 4x4 magazine and look through the ads for the best current deals.

Hey Roar, a descent wheel that I like is a black steel wheel from 4 wheel parts wholesalers....a 15" x 8" wheel will cost about $40. So, that times 4, you get $160 for wheels. Not too shabby. Then, depending on what terrain you will drive, i.e. if you drive alot of street, then a Goodyear MTR is a great tire. I personally have a BFG Mud Terrain and cant complain.

What size tire do you want to run anyway?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Well I am kinda new to this but here is what I want. I believe that the yotas come with 31's, I would like to keep the 31's, but I want them to stick out alittle. A friend of mine says that I need to get 8 inch wide wheels, and that will make the wheels stick out alittle from the fenderwell. So with that in mind, what size wheel do I need to get? also what size tire. And the truck will be primarilt street. So I think the BFG AT's might be a good choice. If I am not mistaken but dont they have those at wal mart? O and I am looking at the American Racing black 767's. I think that is the model number. Does any other wheel manufacturer make a cheaper all black wheel besides american racing? Hey guys thanks again for the information. Especially with the rebuild kit for the 22RE. Ted at EB's was the nicest guy and he stands by his parts, especially the 22RE kit.

Thanks again,

Roar

hey i got the goodyear MT/Rs, i drive more street than dirt etc. and i love them. they last like no other on the road. ya, ryan said it, i was going to get the 33 for my f150, and the 35s were only a lil more expensive, so i said what the hell and went for it. glad it did, i love em. you can also get the goodyear MT/Rs at walmart. youll want a 25" wheel, tires are a lot cheaper that way, and definatley a 8" wheel. ill agree 10" look better sometimes, but 8" hold a tire much better. also...black, ya, thats bad ass as far as im concerend, thats what i got, im running a 9" wheel, and it looks great. the MT/Rs look gnarly, but they ride smooth, and dont hum at all. you will be very happy with them if you drive raod. oh ya...they just looks so cool with those sidewall lugs...

:D Peace :flipoff2:
