I was given 2 high lift jacks(3 feet each) Is there a way to combine the two to make one? Will welding the two together be a good idea? maybe chopping one down to 2 feet and add the other one with a brace in between?

EDIT: It has to be safe or else I wont tamper with those

don't think it's a good idea to mess with lifting equipment, could be dangerous

Don't do it dude. Where ever you start to weld, cut, or drill you will cause a weak point in the jacks which could lead to failure and maybe your loss of your life.

You can buy the "post" piece separately from Hi-Lift for like $16 last time I checked. So if you want to make it a 48 or 60" jack it's not that expensive. Especially considering if the thing fails with some booty fabbed weld it's gonna possibly fawk you or your rig up pretty badly.

I already have a high lift... It would of been a spare. High lifts (Jack all) around here are a 100$(tax included) for a 48" add 10-15$ more for a real hi lift. Ill check for the post seperately but I dought it will be cheap.

3 of my molars can no longer attest to the scariness of those things!

I still use them, but don't go cutting and welding on them.

Its been said over and over, but hopefully you get the idea thats it nots a good one....
