: seats
going to be doing some of the sportsmans UROC events this year. Looking for seat options. I've seen the Beard's and the Corbeau's. What else is out their. Can't afford to spend a fortune! Gotta be a usable with 5 points. Thanks. dave
Gen. Nonsense 01-25-2004, 02:00 PM Do a search on ebay for AXE seats if you want cheap. IIRC they are around $100.00. I havent heard anything good or bad but the guy has quite a few negatives.
RedBullJeep 01-25-2004, 03:46 PM MasterCraft has killer suspension seats and are supporting the industry by coming on to support events. www.mastercraftseats.com
Have to be the most comfort ever.
CJeep77 01-25-2004, 03:52 PM I have been running the Jeg's or Summit style racing buckets in mine for 6 years, and have had no real complaints. My secret was to cut a 3" thick piece of foam to fit in the bucket, and I'm happy with it. Might not be any Corbeau or such, but the foam keeps you from getting baboon ass!:D
squirriljeep 01-25-2004, 04:59 PM Do the mastercrafts become a sponge when they are left out in the rain open? I hope not, because they appear to be the most comfortable.
Reno Rich 01-25-2004, 10:53 PM $200 each, look about like Recarro's, hope you like black.
I thought about those summit seats, but I really wanna be somewhat comfortable.
99ChiliPeprTJ 01-26-2004, 05:27 PM CORBEAU BAJA ULTRA SS buckets. they are very comfy and I have left them out in the rain many times, didnt get TOO soaked and dried out pretty quick. I love them

Ultim8kaos 01-26-2004, 05:31 PM www.racecraftseats.com Very similar to the mastercraft seats. Excellent service and product.
MOFUGRA 01-26-2004, 05:45 PM i was thinkin of getting the corbeau bajas but was concerned about them getting trashed by the elements, cuz they will be in a buggy and will be getting pressure washed and shit. id hate to wreck a $200 seat.
TxCruzr 01-26-2004, 05:54 PM My brother has a corbeau TRS and hes had it for about a year. The sides where it comes up by the legs are coming apart and it is fading nasty...the seats cost way to much for a rig that will spend most of its life outdoors.
I have the jegs seats...same basic design as jazz, summit and rci...I used some thin foam padding from lowes and put 2 layers for the butt and 1 for the back...they feel real comfortable and my brother acually likes them better then his corbeau.

Not sure if the are 5-piont compatable and maybe too ricer looking but the black on black and black/gray combo are not too bad. Only $150. Comes with sliders and I like an adjustable back/recline feature.
yannajj 01-26-2004, 08:15 PM Mastercraft is the way to go!!!!! I have two of the rubicon buckets for the front of my bronco and I am getting the bench for the rear this week. I ordered mine in all vinyl instead or the cloth middle section. They work really well in the rain you can let them set over night in the rain and then empty out the seat in the morning and you are ready to go. The threaded sections soak up a little bit of water but not much.
They are easy to get in and out of and most of the time you do not want to get out of them because they are very comfy.
I am very happy with them and worth every penny.
Big Rich 01-26-2004, 08:43 PM I will always go with Mastercraft:D
I've got a set of Rubicons in my Cherokee and they are super comfy
Besides you could not meet a nicer guy than the owner Robbie

Beat95YJ 01-26-2004, 09:04 PM I run Bestop Trail Max Pro seats in my TJ and they are very comfortable. They are vinyl and seem to hold up to the water pretty well.
I ordered Master Craft Rubicon seats for the CJ today. I can't wait to get them.
Azzy2000 01-26-2004, 09:11 PM Another vote for mastercraft... i recently got a pair of the rubicons for my jeep and theyre the most comfortable seats ive ever used.. high quality as well.
brett 01-26-2004, 09:14 PM I've got MasterCraft front seats that are about 8 years old and only have a little wear and tear. I bought PRP rear seats and they seem just as good as Beard/Mastercraft to me. www.prpseats.com
i have run beards and mastercrafts. on our new formula toy we will be running www.racecraftseats.com jim and his wife own the shop and are great people who build a great seat and have the best customer service. i highly recomend them
