I was looking for an HK94/MP5 type weapon and I found this. (http://www.ohiorapidfire.com/hk.htm) I like the RF 94, basically a clone.

Anybody here know about these guys? Any opinions on the gun and the customer service?

TIA

SOG has the hkm92 in either folderrstyle or standard butt for $1195 or $1095 respectively...both have 16" bbls and fake suppressors on the bbls...comes with one 30rd curved mag...

Ohio Rapid Fire has a good product which they stand behind.
Watch out for Special Weapons, the quality is very shotty.
Make sure is is built on a high quality receiver, NOT A HESSE.

I have seen these listed as the HK94, the SW5, Special Weapons M5, and several other names.
There was a guy on another forum who got burned pretty bad on a $1400 HK-94.

Here is a review from another board I am on.

Just had to have one, so placed the order. Advertised as "HK 94" semi auto version of the famous MP5 with 16" barrel.

What showed up......

Was a Hesse Receiver with some very badly fitted parts, some HK, some not. The Front sight was about fitted about 1/8" left of center, the
forearm had about 1/4 play at the rear, the bolt was VERY hard to pull to the rear, and when it was pulled to the rear, you had to tap it foreward to get it started again. It would not move foreward under its own power at all with a magazine in place.

The 16" barrel turned out to be the original 9" HK threaded MP5 barrel
with a piece of pipe spot welded to the front to make it 16" long. (I was told this is a "Dummy suppressor" ) After the bolt was racked a few times, the weld cracked and pipe started to slide forward.....it was put back in the box and returned.

I'm pretty familiar with Todd Bailey of Special Weapons and his bullshit. I'll be sure to stay away from that.

Ivbe never understood the appeal for either a rifle caliber pistol ,or a pistol caliber rifle. For that money, one can get an AR, or .223 carbine of some sort.

If that is what flaots your boat, however, Id get the real deal.

I have a .30-06 boltaction rifle, and I plan on getting a full size .308 (G3 or FAL) as well.

No, sorry, I meant if you decide you HAVE to have a pistol caliber long gun, Id get the H&K, no less.

Hef- here is an idea which I think is better. ORF doesn't say what receivers they are building these one, it is a fair bet they are not H&K.
You may be better off getting an H&K USC-45, then someone sells a new lower fo it, which allows it to accept grease gun mags, which are fairly pelntiful.
You get garenteed H&K parts, .45 which is more expensive, yet more powerful than 9mm and be out the door for less than the HK94.
Just some thoughts, I thid the replacement low is either $200 or $300.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll look into that for sure.

rifle caliber pistols.....I've got a XP-100 Rem in .223 that will put more rounds than not in a golfball at 100 yards...If you've never done it you wouldn't understand the appeal. Also, in this state you can't deer hunt with a rifle but you can deer hunt with a .375H&H handgun.....go figure.
As to the H&K clones.....there are good ones out there. Can't think of the name of the company, but they build H&K's on licensed H&K machinery, somewhere in S. America. A fella I know has one of their H&K 21 beltfeds, selectfire...it's a nice piece.
I have a Vollmer H&K 53A3, nice piece also. Probably has 3 thousand plus rounds through it with no malfunctions due to the craftsmanship of the rifle itself. 40 rounds at 950rpm is the chits.

http://www.top-notchparts.com/USC-UMPpage.htm
Here is the link the the conversion parts, not sure which one it is, exactly.

The USC-.45 usually goes for about $1000-900 brand new. The grey stock is pretty ugly, but if it is dyed black, it looks pretty good.
I have heard good things about Ohio Rapid Fire, but I personally would rather have a genuine H&K that is new and built better than the MP5.
MP5 mags are pretty spendy.
Real H&K MP5s are fetching between $2500 and $3500, which is rediculous(sp). A class 3 MP-5 is at about $9,000.
