Well, I'm not shipping anything, and it's not FedEx's fault...
...but I purchased a Porsche 915 transaxle a few months back for my FIAT project (save your jokes). Finally get around 'till now to have it shipped from Indiana. No big deal because I was in no big hurry.
I initally told the seller that FedEx Freight seemed pricey (around $1 per pound) and that I could not have it shipped to UNLV because it is not a University-related shipment (not the main issue...rather, it a big freakin' shipment and not University-related). I asked him if he would check into Forward Air because there is one in Indianapolis about 30 minutes from him, so he claimed.
Well, I get the e-mail from him last week that it has shipped...Fed-Ex Freight  Okay, so maybe it was too much for me to expect for him to truck it over to Forward Air. I pay him $180 via PayPal last week, and head home right after teaching lab this morning so I'd be home when it arrived today.
Well, I get a call 30 minutes ago from FedEx asking where I want this to be delivered...the truck is at UNLV  I just told him to tell the driver to bring it back to the depot and I'll pick it up tomorrow. He (the guy I bought the trans from) could have at least told me he was shipping it to the address I told him not to ship it to
Oh yeah, the depot is about 45 minutes from my house across town
So my dilemma: am I wrong to have hoped he herniated his back when he prepared this for shipping?
