Looking at two options:
1) Bronco 44 -63"
2) Scout 44 58"
My back axle is an 8.8 at 59.75" .My question is do I get 1" spacers for the Scout axle and put on offset rims? Or do I get the bronco axle and put zero offset rims? My main concern is with the knuckles and hubs. My preference would be to use the Scout axle due to the fact that it will be easier to setup for SOA, but I don't want to have to replace knuckles constantly due to the extra stress. Will this be a problem?

well frst off what side does your x-case's front output go to? the ford front has a d/side pumpkin and the scout has a p/side pumpkin. this will solve your delima. also what do you mean extra stress with the scout front knuckles???

I think he is talking about extra stress b/c he wants to put wheel spacers on it to get the width which matches his rear....

oh i see. well that much difference isn't much. no wheel spacers would be needed. you would hardly notice. besides i think the scout fronts are between 59 and 60 so the difference might be less than you think. :D

Sorry guys,
Well it' going under a YJ that I plan to put a Dana 300 into. So that takes care of the passenger side pumpkin. The Scout axle I have been told is 58". But I guess that may be wrong. I am going to have a look at it next week.
So in your opinions, I have no worries about stress on knuckles. My concern is when I put offset rims on that the centre point of the wheel will be past the "breakpoint" of the axle. But maybe I am worrying about nothing.
thanks all...

70's Grand Waggys are about 60" with a passenger drop.
