Had a friend e-mail me his question and I wanted to get him an accurate answer. Anyone want to give it a shot?

I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee (WJ). I want to put a 4" Teraflex lift on it. So far everyone has told me I can not lift it because I have CV joints in my drive shaft for my full and part time 4x4. However a friend told me today that I could lift it 3" without getting into any major vibrations and without replacing my drive shafts, and transfer case. Otherwise they said I will have to replace my drive shafts and my transfer case from a full/partime 4x4 to a full time 4x4. So far I have talked to 3 different people and they have all said the same thing. I know it could be done but I don't want to do it if it will get major vibrations.

and furthermore....can anyone recommend a shop in the Bay Area that is willing to take on the project without price gouging?

alright!

I have a 99 WJ, 4.7L with Tera 4"

I do not have problems with vibes....no problems with driveshafts or front axle shafts. The kit comes with a 1" spacers which lowers the transfer case. I also have the AWD quadradrive system.

That being said, this is a mall jeep that doesnt see offroad, although it did see a lot of 4wd conditions, including 4low, last month when we had ice and snow in the NW.

He'll want to replace the driveshaft, if he wheels it at all, he WILL break it. No need to change the t-case, just get a new driveshaft for about $300 and it will solve the problem.
