Bloody hell, this is spot on, eh wot!

I grew up bouncing around the Welsh Breckon Beacons in a 70's series 2....have loved them dearly ever since.

Dad still has a Series II on the farm in BC, uses it every day.

I'm a Jeep guy now, but I will always love Rovers, and hope to have one one day

Land Rovers are definitely kick @$$!!! I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm poking around in here. A while back I was looking to get either a landcruiser or a land rover, and I ended up with the old cruiser wagon. Maybe I'll get the rover later in life...

Now how about some pics? The only rovers that I have seen, are the rather tame, yuppie suburban soccer-mom rigs.

Hey,

I thought I should be civilised and say hello!!!! I wish I had a Dcamera for some before and after pics. The winter project is a '91 RR very clean, very solid. A disconnect winch, safari rack with all the ammenities, some lights front and back, dual batts
you know the usual stuff..........35x14.5x15 SSR's oh yeah go big or go home!!!!
What do youguys have planned!!??

Great to see a Rover board up. My wife and I just added a 2002 Disco2 to our fleet. She used to have a built 95 Disco and wheeled the hell out of it. We will now start buildig the new one soon as cash allows and I am sure she will wheel the hell out of this one.

Glad to see this section of the forum go up; I wheel regularly with Rover guys and they're a fine group of people, as long as you don't make the "wine and cheese" standard jokes and ignore their "best 4x4xfar" comments!
:flipoff2:

I'm here 'cause I really like Rovers (well, old series Rovers, lightweights, Defenders, Forward Controls, F101's, Rapiers, Wolfs, Vampires, Carmichael, Dormobile and Short conversions, Sankey trailers, early Rangies, all military Land Rovers and most pre-Freelander Rovers) and want to learn more about them. In the meantime, my rig of choice is a somewhat-modified FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser I brought with me from Venezuela (to the US).

Looking forward to good discussions!

I have a series, and a disco, and a rangie, and a 110 in parts, and a major parts addiction. I like the series the best, the disco is the bane of my existance.

Good luck getting that ex mod 110 in Cali

If you are looking for one and just want to drive it over for farm use or whatever go to:

I just got a couple koenigs from this guy. Seemed nice and on your coast unlike britrest.

Damn! Now my wife is going to become a POR junkie too. She keeps bugging me to trade in the mini van for Discovery II. She says she wants her own 4x4. I finally got her addicted to wheelin', now she bugs me to go out and hit the trails. I am sure I will find some good info here.

I noticed the Rover forum today:) , my wife wants to buy a Ford Exploder :nuke: and I'm trying to talk her into a LR.

"Look honey, there's one. Doesn't it look cool? We would be much more comfortable wheeling in Anza Borrego and Death Valley in that. It's much better equipped that the Exploder.:nuke: These guys have been making 4x4's ever since gasoline was invented...blahblahblah":D :D

I think I may have her sold by Febuary, but while her all time favorite 4x4 is the Scout II (had to throw that in), :smokin: she needs a combo daily driver and light trail 4wd vehicle. I'll have to just keep lurking and reading to find out what the best model years are for when she says OK :trooper:

Cheers

I took my wife out for a nice romantic dinner, got her mildly drunk on good wine, then laid out all of the pro's/con's of a LR D90 v.s. a Toy 4 runner. Naturally I was biased, but hey it worked! Drove home in my almost new 94' that weekend.

All I had to do was give the gf a ride in the D90 and she was hooked!!! Now I have to get her one so I might get to drive mine again sometime! I'll keep looking around for an affordable wheeler and since I've kept many of my progressive upgrades, it shouldn't be too hard to set her up with something good. We did just add another toy to the stables, so it might take a while, but it'll show up eventually!

I think what will likely happen for now is to get the D110 and the D90 up and running at the same time. That way, I'll wheel the D110 and she can run the D90. Arrrgh.. all that work to let her drive it!!! :D At least she still lets me drive the hard stuff!!

Hey guys,

Along with lots of others, I got sick of the D90 list. Here's hoping that this one kicks some serious Pirate ASS! I can probably swear in here an not be chastized?

Anyway, my own personal LR roll call goes like this:

90 RR classic, ARB's, M10, 31's, OME
94 RR LWB, ARB's, M12, 31's, OME
53 80-inch custom hybrid (not inbred),283, ARB's, 8274, etc...
145-inch crew cab, 350, O/D, SM465, LT-230, long ass drivelines...(under serious construction....)

Glad to see some familiar faces!

Later,

Michael

Hey There!

All looking good for the CC? I can only make it for Saturday, but I'll be there. Are there many D90 heads going down? Bill R has tabs on most of 'em.
