If you don't need to smog it run headers. I am running the smog legal headers from Downey because replacement exhaust manifolds were freakin expensive. Or if you feel really adventurous build your own headers.:D

This is what happend when I got a little bit adventurous a few years back :D
It's made of 321 stainless and there are 21 separate pieces of tubing that I cut and tig welded together to reach the muffler.

WIth the ammount of labor that went into fabbing that exhaust, you would have to cry if they got bashed on a rock!!!!
You've got some serious skills MetalMender!!!:skull:

I work in an aircraft modification shop http://www.onaircraft.com/
and do stuff like that everyday :D
From doing prototype work, and the exhaust stacks and engine mounts on our turbine 210 conversions to auxillary fuel tanks for a few cessna models I tend to bring some of that thinking to my cruisers as well.

I did not make the headers just the tube from the headers to the flowmaster,I believe I got the headers from downey but that was about 8 years ago.

They are on my 66 which doesn't see any trail action anymore as it turned into a mall poseur when the 77 was built :(
I just use it in the summertime as a DD when the rain isn't falling too hard and it's also a great chick magnet :smokin:

Man Metal Bender! You ruined my chance to trash talk! I was gonna post this quote ---WIth the ammount of labor that went into fabbing that exhaust, you would have to cry if they got bashed on a rock!!!!

Then reply "you'd have to first take it off the pavement for that to happen" ;) Oh well, perhaps next time.............

Sorry about that :D
It is sad that it doesn't get to play any more but then it sure is neat to be able to have it as a DD and summertime cruising rig.
Everybody should have couple cruisers shouldn't they ??

It's really not that sad, I used to have a really nice fj40 that I built just for summer time drives and such since my trail rig prety much became un-streetable. But I ended up having to sell it.

Is that a :rainbow: ribbon on the back of your rig or I am still halucinating from the lesbian influx of last evenings wedding I witnessed?

Just kidding!
