Anyone got a TJ with a 2.5 running aftermarket gauges tell me where you tapped in for the water temp sensor. I can find a spot other then the factory sensor and I know that has to stay in there

Put in a tee where the stock sensor is and plumb the stock and aftermarket sensor to the tee.

That doesn't work all that well because to get accurte readings the sensor probe MUST be in the flow of water. Using a tee keeps water from flowing around the sensor.

Tap into the thermostat housing. You will get an accurate reading of the temp there and the sensor will be in the flow of fluid.:D

Thats where the OEM sensor is. There is a space for a sensor but it would have to be drilled and tapped. I was hoping someone had come up with an eazier way but I guess I'll have to do it that way. Any one know if a thermostat housing off of something else that has two outlets will bolt up?

I prefer to keep the OEM water temp gauge and sensor and add an aftermarket HEAD temp gauge and sensor which can be (dry) mounted in a hole drilled and tapped into a casting boss on the head. A head temp gauge adds to engine temp info instead of duplicating it.
I never 'horse' my mill until the water AND the head is up to operating temperature.
