Pretty sure that Rudezuk has the Spidertrax kit, but haven't seen him around lately. Who knows, maybe I just have my head up my arse. :D ~Steve

If you could find a t-case from an sj410 you could rob the e-brake from that, will bolt up to the sami t-case, I did it with mine works good, you'll need the cable and lever from the sj as well

It looks like you have "lots" of stuff on your junk, why don't you tell us a little about your axles, tires, gears, and maybe what your running so that we might have an idea as to what might work for ya. Just a thought...:)

i may have lots of junk on my stuff.....not sure....i've got a 1.6 16v...that and 5.12 gears with the hybrid rear end are the only things i've done to the drivetrain.....basically i'm looking at the spidertrax stuff and just wondered if anyone had some experience with it.....i think i would have a hard time trusting the line locks....

i'm putting in 4.16 tcase gears as we speak.....that's why i even started looking for an ebrake....since i had everything thing out already.....then i was like well if i get the e brake i could just get the rear discs too....then.....well you know how it goes.....it never ends.....

As much as I love Spidertrax's products, their disk e-brake is one product I do not like. My friends who have it on their Samurai's don't really like it either. They hang down too low and don't hold as strongly as they hoped. For them, the brake has caused more problems than it has solved.

I have the Pork Barrel Engineering line lock kit on my Samurai and it is simply awesome. Its only drawback is that you can't leave the brake on indefinitely because it'll drain the battery after about 3 days (leaving it on overnight is no problem though) and the fact that it does use the hydraulic system, so if you burst a brake hose and your foot pedal doesn't work, then the line locks won't do you any good.

One of my friends who has the Spidertrax brake wound up getting the line lock kit and uses it almost exclusively now. The other friend really doesn't like his Spidertrax brake, and he's constantly telling me how much he likes the line lock kit I have, so he's probably going to be getting one eventually.

I have a custom rear disk brake conversion on my Samurai and no "emergency" brake. I have the foot pedal brake and the line locks, and so far I haven't wished for anything more. But I know I should get a cable-operated "emergency" brake just in case something happens. For now, though, I leave my Samurai parked with the Sumo t-case in low range, and there's no way the truck is going to roll unless the engine is running.

thanks for the help......maybe i'll look into the line locks more....my truck is a trailer queen so it never sees the road.....and i usually only need a parking break to hold my position on a hill or something for a short while anyway.....thanks again

i seem to recall seeing somewhere mention of using Subaru calipers that have built in E-brake in them. (when converting to rear discs on samurai) can't remember how involved this was or details, sorry. i was thinking of getting two additional motorcycle rear wheel calipers to use myself, when i convert to discs.

yeah......i'm pretty sure that Trail Tough makes a kit to use subaru.....but i'm really interested in getting something that will lock all four corners......usually just the rear really ain't enough....
