im thinking about making my own die instead of buying those ones that cost lot of money.. have some friends that works at machine shop that would make it for me..

but i need some specs and measurment hopefully someone will pass along those info..

how thick the steel plate has to be?

i already have my buddy made the bender part

as much info you can pass along would be super great..

also should i make it 180 degree die or 240 ?? some people were saying a 240 is a must i dont really see a reason..

how much can 180 degree die bend?

Its seems to me that a 180* die will bend to 120* and a 240* will bend 180* , a little more but not much I think . Lotta damn work to create one die . See how much your buddy would do small production runs for

will ask my friend how much he would want for small production of dies (will be only 1 3/4 as it is what i want..)

but if i can get all measurment then i can get the quote from him..

since im sure it would be under 150 usd or something.. extra coin saved would be good..

i think 180 degree die is perfect for my needs.. unless someone disagree

what will i bend that is over 120 * ?? stinger is about 120 * right? so..
it would be lot easier if i want to do small production (do 360 then cut them in half and hten weld up the arms on and stuff like that..

feedback would be helpful..

does your friend even know what hes gonna be making? My bro in law has all the machines in his garage and he just laughed at me when I asked him about making them...he said its a HUGE PITA to make them, and he used to make them at his shop for one of the larger manfg...
