I was fortunate enough to get a Chev dually 60 from a tip on the BB at a pretty decent price. It was in a wreck, but the damage is limited to the sleeve that connects the TRE to the Tie rod. No big deal to replace. Hubs are selectro, and one side is missing the cap. It is 4.10 , open, and from a 78. Rotors are in ok shape, calipers are included, I would rebuild them. For me to do anything with it now would be a real pita. It is very greasy and I just don't have the resources to get it cleaned up purty without spending a ton in gas, borrowed trucks and time. My tools to build a crate are scattered over 3 job sites in the Chicago area. When I have the resources I will get the sleeve, clean it up and toss it on Ebay.

That is unless one of you fawkers wants it. You meaning a binder guy who is an active poster here. No lurkers from the other forums here, or the BB. Price is 550 bucks written in stone. The one problem is I want it picked up, and none of you fawkers lives anywhere near me. If one of you has a buddy who lives near N/W Indiana an hour from Chicago who can pick it up for you maybe its a good deal for you. If no binder guys want it I will do something else with it next spring.

Ben if it ticks you off please delete the post, just trying to help out the boys

Unfortunately I don't have the coin now but I may be able to help someone with delivery for a reasonable price. I am moving from MT to PA next week, will be on I90 and I80 the whole way, and I'll be in Chicago. I might be able to help out someone living east between Chicago and Philadelphia. I have a 3/4 ton Ram so fitting it in shouldn't be an issue.

Wanna haul it back to Montana for me? :D

I'm sure you'll get to about Chicago and realize, "Aw, crap.. I forgot something!!" anyhow, right? :D

Hey guys I had another Chev front 60 fall in my lap, its a dually from a 4 sp truck with a small block so Im guessing 4 series gears. Im keeping the lockouts and will clean it up and put it on ebay by the end of next week. The truck was used until very recently, so the calipers should be good. It has a chrome diff cover and shinny at that, so the diff fluid can't be too old. Truck was done in by some kind of trans problem. the trans and t case are laying in the back of the truck. I can box it up and have it sitting on a dock for pickup. Inflation hit, 650 plus shipping. I will have more and better info on the ratio and rotor condition Sat evening. As before this offer is just for the regular binder fawks here.
Sat evening

Chi-town is in driving distance to me, but the money isn't. Wish I could.

Don't be so fast throwing that 60 on E-bay. I am in the process of buying 2 local scout II for parts. 1 actually runs and has little rust, and was owned by some dead guy.. the other is a P.O.S.

That 60 would look great on the front of my 1100.

I have a low mileage set of 37"x12.50x15 MT/Rs. Wanna trade? :D

Anybody from there coming to Oregon for the 'Roundup'? I could scrape the coin if I had a mule to haul it for me.

A truck freight company..... hell, if you ask them nice, I bet you could get them to deliver it all the way to Montana. :flipoff2:

Y'know, the closest Forward Air terminal to me is... in Salt Lake City. 485 miles away.

That means it's faster n' cheaper for me to DRIVE to Seattle, Portland, SLC, Denver, and anywhere else in a ~700 mile circle to just pick things up. :D

Something tells me truck freight would make a rusty old D60 from the rust-belt just as expensive as a rust-free D60 from somewhere in that 700 mile circle. :D

Now if I can just find one in SLC or eastern Wyoming or Idaho that's along my route later this month..

I am close to I80 if someone is going to Ohio, I am willing to hold on to it till Sept, but want the bennies up front. Most of the axles I come across I can't read the BOM, but this had a leaky engine and the axle is very well rustproofed. I didn't put a caliper on the rotors, but they have most of their life ahead of them. Im willing to throw the crate in for you guys, and have it at a dock at work, but forward air or taking it to another terminal is difficult for me, Ill need another 50 bucks to take it to a terminal.

Chicago to Ohio.... hmmm I'm right between the two. Two to three hours to Chicago, depending on traffic, and then on to Ohio. Columbus? Where? I can store it and you can come pick it upon the way. (Right off I-80/90)

I went back throught the thread, maybe you can get Darel to haul it to me and I'll store it. Inside, outside, whatever. No charge. edit Ok, maybe not "no charge." I need parts, info on parts, leads on parts, etc to make a 4 speed work in my Scout 80. (clutch linkage)

Darel's post is from last year when he was moving from MT to PA.. :D

I was thinking I might talk someone into hauling it out on their way to RMIHR, but with RMIHR a week away, I don't think it'll happen. :D

Thanks, though!

Not like I don't have enough projects to keep me busy as it is..
