which would be better to use for custom TRE? 1.25 od sleved w/1.5 id or solid cold roll ? New at the crossover game and all the searches give me conflicting answers

DOM tubing will be stronger than cold roll solid

Where is a good place to get DOM tubing. I called a machine shop to get some with 3/8 walls and they said "DOM isnt made that big I would have to get SEAMLESS STEEL and it was very expensive".

1.5" thick .25" wall should suit you well.

1.5 outside diameter and .25 wall------fixed it for you:)

OR what some people use is the 1.25 o.d. with .219 wall.


As far as a supplier in Mo. just have to call around to local steel supply houses. Or if you want, I have a bunch of extra tubing I can thread and ship to you.
