I can't believe these tires climbed like that with so little contact with the rock.

The only bypass on the entire trail.

JackA 12-30-2001, 09:40 AM That was the topper. I haven't wheeled in 2 weeks and I am having withdrawl. That trail is a great time. Like you said it just keeps getting better the farther you go. Well I have to go borrow a hoist and pickup the new motor today. We'll have to meet up soon. Annacaoda?
wheelinjp 12-30-2001, 09:49 AM I just got back from Yuma yesterday.

My winch should be here next week, was planning on breaking it in on Anaconda. I'll let you know when. Good luck on the motor swap.
NECKSTER 12-30-2001, 11:23 AM Cool pics, looks like fun!
Mike Beach 12-30-2001, 12:10 PM Hey Chris,
That was me in the white TJ going up firehole. Great pics, we walked up H2H and it looks like a nasty trail
Mike
Azrckcrawler 12-30-2001, 12:35 PM Mike I added your name under the picture. Jack, I also climbed firehole, wasn't sure if I would be wide enough, just barely.

Berzerker 12-30-2001, 12:41 PM I was wondering what the hell an Arizona "snow run" would look like when I saw the topic to this post. Awesome pics, cool Zukis. :cool2: :cool2: :jeep2: :jeep2:
wheelinjp 12-30-2001, 01:50 PM Well I guess my reply was pretty lame. I had a friend show up right in the middle of writing it. So I was in Yuma for X-mas and my grampa took me out to the hills in his car. So is there laws against certain wheeling in areas cause I saw all kinds of places to take the jeep but no tire tracks. Everywhere I looked there were rock faces and nice crevaces that would be pretty challenging. There were sandrails everywhere going wherever they wanted. How far out of phoenix is the highway to hell trail and which way? I told my friends about the area and we want to plan a big trip down there for X-mas 2002. It is far from Tacoma washington but I figure we could take the week and a half from X-mas to new years. It is a nice change with the 70degree weather and sun from Washingtons rain and 30 to 40 degree weather. Sweet looking Samis and hope we could look you guys up for a little guidance.
Azrckcrawler 12-30-2001, 03:54 PM Highway to Hell is located out in the mineral mountains, north of Florence Az. there's a map of Maricopa county on my site, just look under the trails section. It's about an hour and 15 minutes from my house in NW Phoenix to the dirt road, another 25-35 minutes back to the trailhead. Look me up next year if you do manage to get down here.
Greg@RME 12-30-2001, 04:00 PM I WANNA MOVE TO ARIZONA! You have some KILLER trails there! I love your page, Azrckcrawler! Thanks for updating it! One of your Pics is now my wallpaper! :D So if I bring a few of my friends down sometime, could we get a tour of these trails?
tigger4x 12-30-2001, 04:02 PM AZROCKCRAWLER ... Thanks for the awesome pics and info on local wheeling!!
I am finally getting the parts pieces parts together for my FSJ Cherokee and am itching to get out and wheel all over this place. And hopefully get to enjoy it before we get back to being slow roasted!
Do you guys wheel with Full Size rigs at all? I know some groups are exclusive to their specific kinds of rigs or sizes. Thanks, Keith

Just drop me a line and give me some advanced notice and I'll either take care of you or set you up with someone who can.

As long as your setup and aren't afraid of rock rash we'll wheel with you. There was supposed to be a massivley built Jeep along with us on Sat but he broke a U-joint on the road in (he had a 4 link with heim joints the size of my fist).

NE of Lake Pleasant.
Gordon 01-08-2002, 10:16 AM I might have an opportunity to move to flagstaff. I guess that would be about 2 hours from most of the serios rock trails that are down nearer to pheonix. Not bad, how about up closer to Flagstaff are there some good trails up there, it certainly looks like some snow wheelin would be a possibility.
JackA 01-08-2002, 11:34 AM There are a few areas to wheel up there. The bad part is they, BLM/Forest Service, close a ton of the fireroads in the winter.:(

More NE of Lake Pleasant. From Table Mesa it'd would take an hour, maybe two to get to the trailhead. From Castle Hot Springs Rd it is 30 minutes to the trailhead with a small group.
ok so its out by crown king trail...I havent been out in that area too much just to go up to ck the backway
