I was wondering if some of the EB guys could help me out. I'm trying to find out the lengths of the front and rear driveshafts on the Early Bronco's. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, need a front driveshaft, and i'm just looking around to see if there are anystock shafts i could use for now.

The front shaft is approx. 24 inches, but one thing to consider is to cut a rear since they also have a CV. The rear shaft is approx. 36 inches. Those are the measurements off the one I drive on the street with 3.5 inches of lift. If thishelps great, if not delete it.

Thanks, that does help some, looks like i'd have to cut a rear driveshaft, but i like the idea that it has the cv... I wonder if it would be easier to just have Tom Woods custom build me one?!?

It would definately be easier to have a drive shaft made, but might be a bit more than you are willing to spend. BTW what are you running for a transfer case. Bronco's run a dana twenty so your going to have to find a way to get the U-joint at the end of the CV mated to your transfer case.

Call Tom Woods and save yourself the headache:rasta: :rasta:

Just an idea if you are still using the stock transfer case go crawl under an 82-87 chevy pickup, or just tell me what your using for a splitter and I'll go crawl under my chevy and tell you how long the stock shaft is, maybe that will work.

Yeah, i hadn't even thought yet about the fact that ujoints would be different (brain fart on my part) I'm stilll running the stock np231 transfer case.

Does your stock 231 have a 4 bolt flange that holds the drive shaft on, and if so how far apart are they center to center, if you measure them to the next hole, not in an x pattern.
