: flat towing ?

ok people i know a lot of people here are anti flat towing, but im broke and well i will. anyways, the question is are their any ill effects of towing with a welded rear end? tips on "safer" flat towung

I flat towed my Samurai with a spool for awhile and there were no ill-affects that I could see

Flat towed the Short Bus for a long time with a welded rear, then a spool. I didn't notice any issues with it, but it also didn't push my dually around too much :D :D

I never noticed any difference towing my broncoII with the rear welded, it towed the same as it did open..

however my towrig has a spool in it anyways.. so it kinda tows funny anyways.

Been flat towing my welded Jeep for 2 years with no problems. Just use common sense. Give yourself extra room to stop. Also you can't back up.

You've got no toungue weight, so the toad vehicle will push the back end around on slow speed right angle turns and even high speed interstate curves. It's scary going around even a regular interstate curve at 70mph when you hear the back tires start to squeal ever so slightly. There's really no good way to slow down quickly in that situation.
