Please guys i need your help> Ok I go to fire up the jeep and notice the motor is locked.( happened before when carbed) I pull the #6,#8, plug and gas pours out of block. crank it over to blow that stuff out. Put back together and does it again. I notice that the fuel injectors are pouring fuel as soon as i turn the ignition on. Pass side pours, drivers side spits (normal when cold?) I changed the oil and it was basically black gas. no viscousity to it what so ever. Once started it was smoking hella bad. I replaced the regulator in the TBI today and replaced the injectors (with used ones) After that was done I crank it and it starts right up. About 2 minutes later dies and lockes up again. (too much fuel)
Im running a 305 with 350 injectors( also tried 305) and pain-in-the ass harness with stock YJ fuel pump. Is this caused by the fuel pump? Bad throttle body, or injectors. Or is it the electrical system?
any suggestions?

Crazy, Ive never heard of a TBI doing that, obviously there is a bad signal to the injectors if they are stayin open and dumping fuel. Im not sure what would give them that type of signal though

When the ignition is in the on (before cranking) do they spit and stop?

drivers side does nothing....... pass side pours almost filling up the bowl. Im lost too. I have called the cheby service guys and they couldnt tell me either. " well we would need more diagnostics done to be able to make a guess" Thank god we have these guys to ask!

switch the injectors from right to left. if the one that is pouring out fuel does the same thing on the other side then the injector is bad. If it still the passenger side dumbing fuel then you have a electricity probably from a sort keeping it open.

I will do that in the morning. I didnt even think about doing that. Lets hope for a bad injector, I hate electrical. Any more ideas. ALDL is not pickingup any codes. so i am at a loss.

*UPDATE* switched sides and the problem switched.......... go and buy a new injector and problem is still there. So next im going to switch the connectors (caps on top of prongs) over. And then see if it will fire with one injector.
Any more suggestions please, I need help.

If you switched it and it did the same thing, and then bought a new one then it did the same thing, i think you have two probems now. The injector that isnt pouring out fuel (the one you didnt replace) might be stuck closed. The second problem is you have something (computer, sort, hot wire connected to something it shouldnt be connected to) sending an current to the injectors to have them stay open. Replace the injectore that isnt spraying fuel with one you took off that was spraying fuel. If they both start spraying fuel, look for a problem in the eletrical. Also make sure the injector you picked up isnt malfunction too.

Its been on there since last July. I never has run perfect always a little rich. But hasnt flooded the block like this since the conversion took place.
Ill give you guys a run down of how its set up.
Stock YJ fuel pump-84 305 motor. 91 350 intake, and throttle body, 305 injectors, 91 350 model ?7447? ecm. (Would the ecm be telling the TB to flood like this?) and a painless harness. please keep them coming guys.

First off the TBI runs 13-15psi so if you can verify the pressure is not to hi. Did the YJ have external pressure regulator?

Second I believe the ECM controls injector firing via the ground, whih means if one of the injector wires is grounded it would fire continuesly.

Third, when you put the key in the "on" position but do not start the injectors should fire for a couple seconds and then quit. In my experiance they fira at the same time also. If one keeps going you got some weird shit gong on.

The computer controls the injectors by switching ground on and off. I would trace down your harness for a short to ground. Perhaps where where they pass through the "Grommet" in the throttle body. I have seen times where a careless Technician has pinched the wires between the throttle body and air cleaner assembly causing the problem you are experiencing. I have also used painless wiring in the past with spotty luck. Hope This helps

Today I was getting a code 33 which is the MAP sensor ( volts to high). I test it and its voltage was off. I stripped the wires coming into the sensor and got a average reading.( dont recall what it was) Hooked it all back up then got a code 34 which is voltage to low. After tracing back the wires (purple, grey, green) to their places( couldnt find out where the purple goes to? One was going to o2 and one to back behind the motor down by tranny? But all wires seemed fine no cuts or kinks or nothing. Do you think this is a bad ground? I just dont know any more. Im sick of messing with this damn thing.
