I need to get some new upper shock mounts fabbed up for my Samurai, and wanted to see what everyone was running. I was thinking of some type of shock hoop, but would like to see whatever you guys are running. Let me know what you guys have, or have seen work good. Pictures would be great if ya have 'em. Thanks. ~Steve

I dont have a pic, but use the f-250 shock towers (old style), they're pretty good

Yeah, heard of using those quite a few times, just looking for some other ideas, too. Thanks. :) ~Steve

Can't really beat the ford shock towers. By the time you buy the material and do fab work, you'll be into home made ones much more than $10 for the ford ones.

I did however make my own anyway cuz ford couldn't get em to me fast enough. I just used 3" channel and capped off a couple inches at the top. Used the hardware that came with the 9k's to mount the shock. Work great. Easy to make.

Looks good. I never realized how long the Ford towers actually were. Nice write-up, ColoradoK5, and thanks for the pictures of your set-up, Nobody. Anybody find a cheap auto parts store that can order them, or does everyone go to Ford factory? I hate the Ford dealership out here, so just wondering if I have any other option? Oh, ColoradoK5, is your frame boxed in all around, or is it like open on the inside? Just thinking for the bolt on, if you went all the way through a boxed frame or what. Thanks again, guys, and keep the ideas coming. ~Steve

Frame isn't boxed in yet, that's another mod for the future, I got my shock towers from parts mike (partsmike.net), I think for around 15.00 or so.

i checked in the local junkyard for ford shock towers and was quoted $75 and i had to pull them myself. the ford dealer only wants 11 to 13 dollars for brand new.....cant beat that. thay are the same for a f-150, 250.
