I searched alot on this and didn't find much. I am looking for a good bushing kit or type of bushing to use for 4 link on my samurai. I was planning on finding a TJ bushing kit or something equivelent. What have any of you used?

I had thought about using heims, but decided that the rubber would be more forgiving on the road and the cost. I still may use heims on the frame side of all of the links for some adjustability.

Thanks,

-Steve

I used Energy Suspension kit # 2.2107R to replace the bushings on my RRO front link arms.

I made them by myself, 60mm Polyurethane bushings:

Nice job on those bushings! What is the durometer of that material though?

Anyhow....what kind of link ends do you want to use? stanard leaf spring eye type (like the pic above) or something like the ford radius arm bushings(dougnut type bushings) or a combination of both? they each have advantages and disadvantages.

Several people here (PBB) have said that rubber bushings tend to wear out fast, and the neoprene rubber do as well, though they last longer, (but can ride a bit rougheer as well)

So what to use? Beings your here in Michigan, you may want to use Jheep YJ bushings (face it around here you wheel with jeeps, so if you blow a bushing, there is a good chance someone will have a spare) Not to mention that they will be commonly stocked, unlike the inport stuff. just look at Murrays or Autozone, to see what they stock for the 'upgrade' bushings. make it common and easy to get for repairs.

I dont think I would go with the TJ bushings, just becouse of the size. the YJ's are bigger if I remember right.

hope that helps a bit. after rereading it, its about as clear as michigan mud! :flipoff2:

I dont know. I test them, and if are too stiff I start making 8mm holes on it to reach more flex.-
