Does anyone know how to get more torque out of this motor. Its a 3/4 ton truck used for plowing. Is there a chip and who has one.

Is it really a 5.7? I thought they only had the 5.3 and 6.0 for the small gas motors in 2000. If it is one of those 2 Hypertech sell a programmer for $350.

I know they made the 5.7 in 2000 in 3/4ton and one ton OLD body stlye trucks.

I thought only the Tahoes, burbs, and 1 tons left the old body style in 2000. They ditched the 5.7 when they changed the body style. You cant get the 5.7 in a new body style truck that is American. I believe some trucks in Mexico still got the 5.7.

sorry to bring this old thred up but i have a 2000 gmc (old body style) with a 5.7 but hypertech doesn't show a programer for this will the one for a 1998 work as long as everthing else is the same

Maybe? but why don't you try calling hypertech they MAY know.
