so I herd that you can put a fj62 head on my fj60 2f block let me know if I am smoking crack or if this would really work.

Short andswer: yes...longer answer...sorta...:) If you have an fj62, it's as easy as swapping a 2f short block under the 3fe top end. If you want to put a 3fe head on top of the 2f block in your 60, you're gonna have to swap in the wiring harness and computer from the donor fj62, put in an fj62 fuel tank/fuel pump unit, or rig another higher pressure fuel pump, change your intake/exhaust manifolds to match the 3fe stuff...more than I personally know about. I know Mark Hawley (helocat here) has done the 2f block into an fj62 with 3fe head, but I don't know anyone who's reversed that procedure, personally...

I would not recommend it. the trap door MAF setup on the 3fe is not a particularly high performance setup(not at all, really) and you would probably not find it worth it.

I have a 3FE sitting here at home with 175k miles, ran like a champ, and I have the computer, most of the wiring, the MAF and some other assorted stuff. Make an offer.

Not really sure as for the offer, but I was going to put it in an FJ45, as a 2F/3FE hybrid. Chet wagner put on in a 40 I believe, but used GM computer, wiring, sensors etc on the toyota engine/manifold, and said it made much more power than the Toyota ECM/injection. That is what I was planning.

Still sorta waiting for helocat to chime in, but from what I've heard, this works well: 2f long block 3fe top end. There are guys on the 3fe list that have done this, thrown in the clifford cam, milled the ehad for more compression, had the throttel body bored and injectors balanced, and claim it's a rippin' little combo...I dunno what Chet's done, but I hear he's pretty hard to reach these days...

well that sounds good but it is a little more work than what I wanted to right now but if the price is right I would buy the stuff you have off of the 62 so how much?

Chet Wagner and Floyd Bufkin did it, if you go to birfield.com and search the LCML archives it is discussed in depth there. They used a GM computer but said it was a sweet combo a week or two ago I was thinking one of the many "ideal rigs" I have deep in my noggin might run that setup...

The easiest way to get fuel injection is a GM 4.3L TBI setup on a 2F, there are lots of guys running it but it is also no easy task to get it to run right. It is well covered in the archives here if you search. Spaceghost on this board among others run that setup and it supposedly runs very well...

Side note on the FJ62 set up... GET EVERYTHING! I had bought a 3FE complete to do a EFI setup in my FJ60. Only problem was the stock 2F was still running strong with 220,000 miles. Other than "hard starting" after sitting for two weeks, it ran fine. Finally sold it the truck. Sold the 3FE engine. Kept the EFI stuff. In the process of getting everything, I overlooked the ignitor. Yep, 3FE uses a very specific distributor, and specific igniter. Bought a new ignighter for something like $250 (ouch!). Worse yet... never installed it.

Also the FJ62 & FJ80 "3FE" fuel injection parts differ. Computer, harness, etc are different. Just a FYI when looking for parts. Got as far as a "test bench" before I moved (long term goal was to reprogram the computer, but never enough hours in the day to mess with it after a day of work.

If you really want EFI... Chevy TBI is the easiest way. Throttle body isn't as good as a port injection, but still better than a carb once sorted out.
